Minimum Qualifications for Applicants are:

  1. Minimum of eighteen (18) Years of age
  2. High school graduate or GED
  3. 1 year of high school Algebra with a “C” or better or post High School equivalent or Placement test placing you in Algebra 2 or higher from a local Community College

Limited Energy Tech “A” License

Job Description:

Installs, alters, maintains, replaces or repairs protective signaling systems used to notify irregularities on subscriber’s premises. Installs wires, conduits, and signaling units following blueprints of electrical layouts and signaling systems. May work sometimes in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working in crawl spaces above ceilings, etc. Must be able to adhere to safety guidelines at all times. May use a variety of hand or power tools.

Also includes all LE “B” training

Limited Energy Tech “B” License

Job Description:

This trade encompasses both installers and repairers, and can be inside or outside work. Installers are involved with all the telecommunications wiring in a new or remodeled building, mounting equipment, terminating cables and testing the finished product. Repairers need to be able to quickly diagnose problems by using a wide variety of test equipment, and then need to correct the problem. These problems may be within the customer’s equipment, the local utility company or the long distance company. A repairer needs to have the mental flexibility to change course at the beep of a pager. Whether it’s splicing fiber optic cable or putting in thousands of lines of data into a state-of-the-art PBX, the employment outlook for a licensed Limited Energy Technicians Class B is strong.
